"Stretch Limo" CD Comes Out THIS Tuesday... WIN a CD!!

I love Colorado. I'm opening for the Weepies in Boulder tonight, yay. It seems I may not be flying back to Boston on Sunday as planned. Or Monday. Or Tuesday. Or hmm, not sure when! I guess mine was one of those thousands of cancelled flights. I'm totally fine here in this lovely state but my thoughts are with everyone back east bracing for Hurricane Irene.



My upcoming CD "Stretch Limousine on Fire" will be out on Tuesday August 30! I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it. It's been three years since I put out a CD of all new material (Sweet Life, August 2008). The Performing Songwriter is featuring the CD in it's front page weekly jukebox contest. Some people ask if it's better for me if you buy the CD now or at the show. In this case, I want you to get the music NOW! I can't wait. Every sale helps me feel validated as an artist and human. Just kidding! But it does help with momentum!

Tour Update: I will be opening for the irresistible Weepies on August 27th at the Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder Colorado! Then, in the first week in September I'll be kicking it in Maryland, and Virginia (in Ashland and the Shenandoah Valley.)

The "Stretch Limousine on Fire" tour will be rolling through North Carolina and New England including shows in Natick MA and Portland ME. Check out the schedule here and reserve tickets early! BIO: Catie Curtis delivers some of the finest material of her career in Stretch Limousine on Fire, ten original songs that push at her own musical boundaries and explore "the difficult edges of passing events" in life. Produced by Lorne Entress, the new recording is spirited, unique, and best embodied by the album's title track, "Stretch Limousine on Fire" taking on the idea that "when bad things happen, you sometimes take comfort in realizing they happen to everybody." It's this portrayal of universal life experiences, wrapped in Curtis' brand of evocative songwriting that won her the 2006 International Songwriting Competition. The sound, like the subject matter, is rawer than Curtis' previous work, which has been featured on episodes of Grey's Anatomy, Dawson's Creek and several other hit shows. Since the release of her last album in 2009, Curtis has toured extensively, playing a number of diverse venues ranging from Chicago's legendary Old Town School of Folk Music to a show at the White House in 2010.

Late yesterday, a pretty large group backed out of Monday's Club Jaeb show featuring Catie Curtis. While bad news for us, this means some really, really great seats have just opened up for public sale.

There's nothing like seeing an artist this good in such an intimate, acoustically perfect and comfortable setting.

Give yourself a present Monday night. Get a ticket to the show, come down here early (6:30) to meet other music-minded people, enjoy a drink and then see one hell of a show.

Another note from Catie Curtis

Catie Curtis sends us news from time to time, so I thought I'd share again. Not to be a shill, but her show WILL sell out again this year, so get a ticket!

I just spent a week aboard the ms Zuiderdam, on an Olivia cruise to the eastern Caribbean. I played a concert one night and the rest of the time, well you know I was working very hard. I've returned to the chilly Northeast where the temperatures are hurting my head. My coping strategies: lotion in the microwave (8 seconds on high and a glob of cold Suave becomes a luxurious spa treatment), going to bed REALLY early (I refuse to admit the exact time), long underwear and lots of hot tea which brings us to FOLK MUSIC.

This week I am traveling to the mighty Pittsburgh, where my show at Club Cafe will be broadcast live on WYEP (http://www.wyep.org/) radio. Ingrid Graudins will be singing her gorgeous harmonies with me there. Tune in from anywhere. Then it's off to Phoenixville (near Philadelphia) PA with special guest Elana Arian, and a performance at the Osetaga Resort in Cooperstown, NY, featuring Long Night Moon producer Lorne Entress on percussion and mando.

Later in February, I head out on a 6-day tour in the southeast, with shows in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Some of these rooms are small and will sell out, so be sure to get your tickets before it's too late!

Patty Larkin confirmed!

A little birdie has told me that we've confirmed Patty Larkin for a Club Jaeb date later this year.

She put on a great show last year, so we're excited to have her back. More details on all that as I get them.

I hear you missed a great show last night in LeRoy Bell and His Only Friends. He had a very small but enthusiastic audience.

We also have Catie Curtis coming back on Feb. 26. Get those tickets while they last - she was a big seller last year, and we're already moving tickets pretty quickly.
